Kadamakkudi...

Always felt like jumping off a running bus each time i pass a " kallu shappu" ( the local word for toddy shop), traveling through parts of Alapuzha and Kottyam. And that is not just to have a feast of the white "amrithu", but the spicy fish curry and the yummy tapioca.Just thought of writing about this when i shared some pics on FB today. A memorable trip to "Kadamakkudi shappu" in Ernakulam. It is surrounded by water on all three sides, a peninsula. The picture i have added will make it more unclouded. The smell of spice in the air adding more strength to the booze. Any more portrayal  would be counted at the bottom. I wish everyone gets a chance to dig into this real thrills and kicks of being at such a place.

I C U..

“The past has got wings”…that is the thought that dragged me into the desperate world of insomnia. And when I  get drowned in frustration thinking of what i have done, it hits me that  this happens in a phase of life when  I am floating in overwhelming confidence to conquer my world and rewrite all that is ill. The thought of collapsing at this point may be a kind of wrecked consciousness.
What I know, when I blog here now is that there are millions of reasons that strokes me to move on , to enjoy life, to be happy, to be proud and to live with dignity among the best of people that I have around me in this world of mine where many a dream is still left untouched…”I believe I will be a reason 4 may a smile “……….

The beat offfffffffff....

In spite of all the curtains that were drawn to sustain the inflation of the range of criticism that the Indian sports and athletics has got at times when the tide was a bit low, all but the efforts were unthriving. The recent ban on 7 athletes for use of banned drugs have only made the arena an open graveyard. Like every bad in the world has a follow up of A-OK events, so does our calamitous story. To a greater degree goes  the satisfaction. even though the existent does seem eating the dust..What crystal ball it is the new dimensions to which Indian sports can grow. A young Saina Nehwal ruining her Chinese opponents with a hell of a show with her racket, A admirable Virat Kohli showing the world that Indian cricket has got splendid roots after the time of Tendulkar and Dravid, the pleasing scenes of the Indian hockey team rising out of the bed and the string of hopes for improving the medal tally at the London Olympics are all the needle pointers to the golden book of glory...and time will  prove what a country, racing to the peak of population can do....

what's what....

Sometimes, the most impersonal matters at its slightest dynamism may pilot us into the closed walls, bulldozing us to be part of a world which never existed. We may be floored with the grip of dismay, trying to chip reasons out of a running wheel.  “I am Alive” would be the low pitched tone from the inside that reminds you about the green part of the holy consciousness.
And why, for all the good and sweet in the world is a solution so deeply buried. At the end of the day, it’s about determining the what –is-what, to get the hang of the care of your loved ones ,that  the real sport of life gathers. It is in rewriting the bad news and the worst played part of the drama that the human life, the most complex creation is all about. An example may not seem far enough and it may lay hiding under the shadow of all men who set foot on this planet of apes.
The time when the heart sings “I can be the better man” is at close quarters.

A story written by the willow...

As it is being said, the great wall of china can be seen even from the moon.I doubt weather the proud Indians would very much stick on to that. The reason, on the other side may seem completely winding in another direction. We Indians have seen a greater wall for the last 16 years. the legendary RAHUL DRAVID. A down to earth miracle, who has earned his own place among the all time greats of the game and undoubtedly, the best test player India has ever had. "No dream is ever chased alone" was his words for all those who supported him throughout his story of success. More than 10,000 runs in both forms of the game explains the story by itself..Also the main man behind India's famous overseas win at Adelaide, Rawalpindi and the Carribean....
A true legend....My all time favorite Mr. Consistent.

feel like sharing some words said about Rahul Dravid....

There was and is only one Rahul Dravid. There can be no other. I will miss Rahul in the dressing room and out in the middle.
- Sachin Tendulkar

Dravid is obviously one of India's greatest batsmen - great in all conditions - and one who scored runs runs everywhere. From a personal perspective, Rahul is one of the best men I've ever worked with... he's not only a great cricketer, but a great man.
- John Wright

He's probably the nicest guy - no, he is the nicest guy - that I've met in cricket. He's a phenomenal man. He loves the game with so much passion, it's in his blood and in his heart.
- Shane Watson

He was the guy youngsters in the dressing room looked up to. Sachin would always be the guy who inspired awe. But a lot of players knew Sachin was something special, while they could all be Rahul Dravid. Rahul was one of them, working hard - there really is going to be a big void in Indian cricket now.
- Sunil Gavaskar

He was a totally selfless cricketer. He has been very helpful and never said no to anyone and always gave his best.
- Bapu Nadkarni

It's a bold decision. He probably doesn't feel he has no cricket left. He is making way for the youngsters, which is amazing. It's sort of an example for many others.
- Anshuman Gaekwad

There cannot be another Rahul Dravid. He is a legend. As a youngster, I learnt a lot from him. Bowling to him, talking to him, sharing the dressing room...anything cannot be better than that. I personally feel there cannot be another Rahul Dravid.
- Pragyan Ojha

- Mahesh Bhupathi

Rahul Dravid is one of the all-time greats of the game. One of the top 5 batters I played against. Lara, Sachin, Ponting Kallis are the other 4.
- Alec Stewart

They say sport serves society by providing vivid examples of excellence. To me the most vivid & dependable has to be Rahul Dravid.
- Shah Rukh Khan

Knew the man behind the bat. Not often do you find a person as exceptional as his achievements.
- Sanjay Manjrekar

Some succeed because they are destined to, but Rahul Dravid succeeded because he was DETERMINED to.

The royal Colosseum - My classroom

This continued until the head began to ache and the mind went for the unconquered in its unconscious roll..The air smelt of helplessness and in no long time, it would be Alcatraz.. In the front, the king stood denouncing the laws of the student world. The intent was good as for the rules of the institution, but on the side of the ones stuck to the shaking chairs and dusty tables, it was as if the last star that was glued to the night sky had diminished to testify to the traitor's rules of the starving universe.
A pen in hand made me feel like a gladiator. A book with pages in the color of peace were of no help. The voice of the lecturer came like thundering knocks upon the doors of the brain which became angry and rough, as the hands of the clock ran like a tortoise..Even a clatter of swift footsteps reminded me of a better world. the one which was outside this Colosseum.
I know there would be line of folks behind me whitewashing pages of their destiny, peeping out to see the sun which was once bright and the stars which had given them happiness once....The only flash of satisfaction was the one I read on the side of the blackboard in my classroom
-"last 12 days of engineering"....But for the the bunch of good people with whom i have spend my time, my wonderful friends, life is still an unsung song....
